garden corner

This Memorial Day was another painting Monday for the local group, followed by Thai food takeout.  A good time was had by all.  I got a late start, so I have just a monochrome underpainting / value study.  When it is finished, with the help of a photo reference, I'll post the result.

burnt umber oil on canvas, 6"x6"

This is really a nice study by itself, Roger! I'm glad you have a posting of just this, so that when you add color and detail, you'll have two great paintings.

Thanks. I have a couple of these now, where I have the underpainting but no color yet. Don't know how it will be adding color in the studio, but it should be ok if my photo reference is good.
