This image is in honor of the spectacular arrival this morning (Zulu time) of NASA's latest rover, Curiosity, on Mars.
This photo from my childhood was taken by my father in the early Sixties, and features his company-surplus Land Rover in the desert.

A very apt comparison! Maybe the Rover will bump into the Viking Lander.
