I've always loved the color when these plants bloom, but they are particularly dramatic at the end of the day, even before they bloom. The verticals and the horizontals in your photo are exciting!
Thanks, Elsbeth. Some of these plants did have some red buds on them (desert afternoon 2) but not this one. Although it rained briefly while we were there, it wasn't enough to send them through their bloom cycle.
