crescent bay island
This photograph is a bit of an experiment. Rather than use high dynamic range techniques which are all the rage today, I let the light areas go to white for a high-key effect. The resulting image has the darks connected in a large zig-zag through the scene.

I think the experiment was a success!
Thanks, Elsbeth. I exposed this photo for shadow detail and I tended to think of it as a failed image because of the washed out highlights. But when I looked at it later, I liked the effect and composition, so decided to work with it.
